Since the new year kicked off, I’m trying to do a better job of budgeting. Luckily, Greenville has great food for great prices—you just have to know where to go. Whether you’re traveling here for a weekend trip on a budget or a local looking to spend less out while eating out, here are my go-to cheap eats where you can get a good meal for less than $15 a person.
Papi’s Tacos
At Papi’s Tacos, you can get three tacos for less than $15. They have two locations in downtown Greenville – one on the river and the other on the west end. So, if you’re in downtown Greenville and have a taco or margarita craving, this is the spot for you!
Sully Steamers
Bagels aren’t just for breakfast, and Sully’s steamed bagels are delicious at any time of the day. Whether you’re in the mood for a classic or something more adventurous (like The Griswold, a bagel with turkey, bacon, BBQ sauce, provolone, pepper jack, lettuce and parmesan peppercorn) you can’t go wrong.
Windy City Burgers
With 4.9 stars on Google, it’s easy to argue that they’ve got some of the best burgers in Greenville. They use homemade brioche buns and grind their meat in house, so you know you’re getting a good quality burger for a good price.
Swamp Rabbit Cafe & Grocery
This one’s a Greenville classic. Right off the Swamp Rabbit Trail, it’s the perfect cheap meal after a bike ride. If you’ve never had their Stecca bread, make sure to order a sandwich so you can try it! Or, buy a loaf at their grocery store to take home with you.
Sacha’s
If you’re in the mood for authentic Latin food, an arepa from Sacha’s will always hit the spot. I’ve never had a bad meal here, and the prices can’t be beat.
